Sunday Reset: My Weekend Routine for a Fresh Start
Sunday is my favorite day of the week, not just because it’s the weekend but because it’s the perfect day to reset and get ready for the week ahead. My Sunday reset routine has become a ritual that I genuinely look forward to. It’s my time to tidy up, prepare, and make sure I’m starting the new week on the right foot. If you’re looking for a way to get your life in order before Monday hits, here’s how I go about it.

Morning
I always start my Sundays by changing the sheets on my bed. There’s something so satisfying about crawling into fresh, crisp sheets at the end of the day. Plus, it instantly makes my bedroom feel cleaner and more inviting. After swapping out the sheets, I give my bedroom a quick clean—dusting surfaces, wiping down mirrors, and making sure everything is in its place. A tidy bedroom sets a calm tone for the rest of the day, and I love knowing that my space is clean and ready for the week.
With the bedroom sorted, it’s time to tackle the laundry. I start by separating the whites from the darks. I’ve learned the hard way that taking an extra few minutes to do this is well worth it—no more pink socks, thank you very much. While the first load is in the wash, I move on to making breakfast. Sundays are special, so this is the day I’ll go the extra mile, and make pancakes — a pancake batter dispenser is a game changer here. A good breakfast is the fuel I need to get through the rest of the day.
Once breakfast is done, it’s back to the laundry. The first load comes out, the second one goes in, and I hang up the wet clothes to dry. While the second load is doing its thing, I make a grocery list of everything I need for the week. This includes everything I’ll need for my weekly meal planning. This way, I’m not scrambling mid-week trying to figure out what’s for dinner. My nearest grocery store is a 30-minute walk from my house, which is just perfect for getting some steps in and clearing my head.
Afternoon
After my grocery run, I come back home, pull out the second load of laundry, and lay the clothes out to dry. Now, it’s time to put all the groceries away. I make sure everything is organized in the pantry and fridge so that when I’m meal prepping, I’m not wasting time searching for ingredients.
Speaking of meal prepping, that’s the next big task on my Sunday reset list. I cook six lunches and five dinners, which will cover most of my meals for the week. I usually eat one of the lunches after the meal prep is done—it’s a great way to save time and avoid cooking twice in one day. Two lunches and two dinners go in the fridge, ready to be grabbed on the go. The rest are stashed in the freezer to stay fresh until I need them. This step is crucial for me; knowing I have healthy meals ready to go makes my weekdays so much easier.
With the meal prep done, it’s time to clean the kitchen and fridge. I wipe down all the surfaces, clean out any expired items, and make sure everything is in its place. I always feel so accomplished when my kitchen is spotless—it’s like hitting the reset button for the week.
Now that the kitchen is sparkling, it’s time to move on to the rest of the house. This includes vacuuming the carpets and cleaning the upholstery. Having a robot vacuum has been a game-changer for me. It saves so much time, especially since mine also mops. While the vacuum is doing its thing, I take a moment to relax and recharge.
Evening
Once the house is clean and tidy, the laundry is usually dry and ready to be folded. I put the clothes away, making sure everything is neatly organized. By this point, I’m usually ready for a bit of pampering. A relaxing bath is the perfect way to unwind after a productive day. There’s just something about soaking in warm water after doing all your Sunday chores—it feels like a reward.
After my bath, I do my evening skincare routine. I like to take my time with this, making sure my skin is clean and hydrated before bed. Once that’s done, I make a quick dinner—usually something simple like a steak or salmon with some veggies. I keep it light and nutritious, just enough to keep me satisfied without feeling too full.
With dinner out of the way, I give the kitchen one final clean and take out the trash. The last thing I want is to wake up on Monday morning to a messy kitchen or an overflowing trash bin. Then, I settle in to watch my favorite show. I always make sure I have some snacks or ice cream on hand—because what better way to spend your Sunday evening?
This is my Sunday reset routine. It’s a day dedicated to getting my life in order, so I can start the week feeling organized, refreshed, and ready to take on whatever comes my way.
